NEW YORK STATE -- Senator Charles Schumer wants to make sure folks can call for help in big disasters like Sandy.
Schumer is calling on the FCC to require all cell phone service providers to have emergency power sources. During the worst of Sandy, customers were without service for days.
Schumer is asking the FCC and the telecommunications industry to team up with first responders to create a solution.
