Friday’s Shen hockey game had special meaning for the family and friends of Chris Stewart. The teen, who was killed last weekend in a car crash, was a big hockey fan, often seen wearing a Shen hockey team jersey. Our Erin Vannella has more on how people honored Stewart.

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. -- People who knew Chris Stewart, the teen killed last weekend in a crash on the Northway, knew his passion for sports. To honor the Shenendahowa High School football player, those who gathered at Friday night's hockey game wore green, carried signs, and cheered Stewart's name.

Friends say Chris was often seen wearing his Shen hockey jersey. The teen wanted to be an athletic trainer or gym teacher.

Those who showed up in green or Shaker blue say they came out to support the victim's families, and the schools.

"It's awful, but Chris and Deanna will always be remembered. And we are just here to support Shen, and support Shaker," said John Novenche, a Shen junior.

Calling hours were held for Stewart at Corpus Christi Church in Round Lake. Hundreds showed up to pay their respects. There's a memorial service planned for Chris at that same church, Saturday morning.
