LOS ANGELES -- A former Hudson Valley Renegade is set to sign a huge free agent contract with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
Josh Hamilton has reportedly agreed to a five-year deal worth $125 million with the Angels. The 2010 AL MVP delivered a strong 2012 season, but ran out of gas at the finish for the Texas Rangers. Even so, it was believed that Texas was the frontrunner to retain Hamilton.
But it wasn't in the cards, as the slugger leaves the Lone Star State for division rival Los Angeles.
The Angels are coming off a disappointing third-place finish in the AL West and should enter 2013 as favorites for the division crown.
