Support continues to pour in for the victims of this month's deadly crash on the Northway. Hundreds came out Sunday for a diving exhibition at RPI in honor of Shaker High School senior Bailey Wind. Our Solomon Syed has more on the event that helped raise money for her recovery.

TROY, N.Y. -- For the first time in her life, Bailey Wind is a spectator. But seeing others do what she loves is a springboard for her spirits.

"It makes me look forward to going to the University of Tennessee to dive. I'm just so thankful for this!" said Bailey Wind, crash survivor.

For now, Bailey's career's on hold. The accomplished diver sustained severe injuries in the crash that killed her boyfriend, Chris Stewart, and close friend, Deanna Rivers. The memory of the two lost loved ones has helped keep Bailey's heart afloat.

"I miss Chris and Deanna so much. I do feel like they're watching over me every day," said Wind.

Stewart's family cheered from the sidelines Sunday, as hundreds came out to support the Wind family.
Donations will help pay for Bailey's rehab and anything they need around the holidays.

"I had to do something, just because he's such an inspiration, she's so beautiful when she dives," said Kelly Moran, Bailey Wind's friend.

"The community's obviously been very supportive. Bailey had a lot of friends, she's a special girl, a special family. So it doesn't surprise me there's a lot of people here," said Mark Moran, Dive for Bailey co-organizer.

Bailey's mom says she's not surprised either how the close knit diving community's come together to get her daughter to the finish line in her recovery…with some help from above.

"All these events help keep Chris and Deanna alive, and that's what helps my daughter," said Dawn Wind.

"I get my neck brace off in a couple of weeks and I'm doing a bunch of stuff on my own. They were both just really great people that I'm glad I got to know," said Bailey.
