When the company was founded in 1872, Ulysses S. Grant was in the White House. Later this month, Saratoga Springs Sparkling Water, in its signature blue bottle, will be served to our current President when he's sworn in to his second term. YNN's Matt Hunter has the story.

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – While the equipment has no doubt changed over time, Saratoga Springs Sparkling Water has been bottled at the same Geyser Road location for the past 141 years.

These days, roughly 500 bottles, yes, those iconic blue bottles, pop off the assembly line each minute.

"That's what we're going for, is to have a look that stands out,” Saratoga Spring Water Company COO Adam Madkour said. “A look that you can see from across the room and you associate it with Saratoga."

Already sold in 38 states, the water will be unveiled to Washington, D.C.'s political elite in two weeks when it's served at President Obama's inaugural luncheon, an exclusive affair that will also include the First Lady, Vice President Biden, along with members of the Supreme Court and Congress.

"When you think about the people who will have this in their hands and the people that will be having dinner and enjoying our products along with all the other products that will be featured, it's a good feeling for us," said Madkour, whose father purchased the company in the 1990s.

Madkour first learned of the honor in August after Senator Charles Schumer chose the product to represent New York State at the luncheon. He was invited to attend the inaugural speech, but with a one-month-old newborn at home, he and his wife won't be making the trip.

"It would've been an exciting opportunity, I know my wife would've been really excited to go to D.C. but yeah, it’s not going to happen,” Madkour said. “We'll be rooting from the sidelines."

While he'll be viewing from the confines of home, Madkour remains proud of the honor that he views as a tribute to more than a century's worth of success in the city his family calls home.

"To be chosen because of the history and because of where we are and what we are, it was just a great surprise and we're very happy about it," Madkour said.

Because Saratoga Spring Water Company already uses a distributor in the Washington, D.C. area, Madkour says no special preparations were necessary to supply the water for the luncheon. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
