ALBANY, N.Y. -- Albany County Nursing Home is losing a million dollars per month. That's what County Executive Dan McCoy reports. He is preparing for a new round of public hearings on the issue.

McCoy says the county can never get under the property tax cap with the nursing home's situation. His office reports Medicaid reimbursement rates leave the county $200 short per patient, per day. McCoy wants to enter a lease agreement with Upstate Services Group to manage the home.

This past fall, many staff and residents argued against privatizing the home during a county legislature meeting.

The first of several new public meetings will be held March 7th at 4 p.m. at the County Building on State Street.
