High Impact Storm Looking More Likely

Dry, but Cold for Thanksgiving

After a day that featured record breaking high temperatures, we're expecting cooler temperatures today. With that being said, temperatures will still be mild for early November. Today will be breezy, but pleasant with highs in the 50s. Things will remain rather uneventful overnight as clouds increase from the south.

Snow looks to build into the Capital Region by the late morning, which should leave the morning commute unaffected. Snow will pick up in coverage and intensity during the afternoon. Snow may be heavy at times, falling at a rate of 1-2" per hour. This will make for snow covered roads and poor visibility for the evening commute. Winter Storm Warnings have been posted for parts of the area and may be extended further later in the day. The greatest chance for 6"+ of snow Wednesday into Wednesday night will be in the immediate Capital Region, Taconics, Berkshires, Greens and eastern Catskills.

This storm looks to have an even higher impact than normal coming on one of the busiest travel days of the year. If possible, avoid traveling Wednesday afternoon/evening. Other than a few flurries, Thanksgiving will be dry, but cold.
