Mostly Cloudy, Windy, Quite Cool This Afternoon

Moderating Temps Late Week

Following some very mild weather recently, temperatures will struggle to get back above 50 today in the Capital Region with surrounding hills not making it out of the 40s. Upper level low pressure that brought periods of rain through midday, mixed wtih snow in higher elevations will keep us in clouds, although there will be some drying and thinning of the clouds with a leftover shower in some areas. Winds will increase to 20 mph, gusting well over 30 at times, adding to the chill. Tonight we'll see a clearing trend with slowly diminishing winds as temps fall well down into the 30s, feeling like 20s or lower with the wind.

Thursday will still be quite windy and chilly, but not as cold with mostly sunny skies and highs well into the 50s. Highs should reach the 60s Friday and Saturday, with some clouds and a possible shower or two. Later in the weekend, we'll cool down again with breezy, dry weather.

Mostly Cloudy, Windy, Much Cooler

Moderating Temps Late Week

Following our recent mild days, temperatures fell to the 40s overnight and stayed there most of the morning with occasional rain moving through the area.  Temps will recover to the mid to upper 50s this afternoon in the Hudson Valley with many parts of the Catskills not making it out of the 40s. Upper level low pressure that brought the cooldown, showers and even flakes in the higher Catskills, will maintain the clouds but drier air will allow some breaks in the clouds in the Hudson Valley as winds increase, gusting to 30 mph or higher at times. Tonight we'll see a clearing trend with slowly diminishing winds as temps fall well down into the 30s, feeling like 20s with the wind.

Thursday will still be rather windy and chilly, but not as cold with mostly sunny skies and highs around 60. Temps should move into the low and mid 60s Friday and Saturday, with some clouds and a possible shower. Later in the weekend, we'll cool down again with breezy, dry weather.
